Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Twitter Account Suspended for One Week
Rep. Greene violated the platform's rules when she tweeted that the FDA 'should not approve the Covid-19 vaccines' and claimed the vaccines were 'failing.'
Twitter has suspended Marjorie Taylor Greene’s account for one week. The company announced Tuesday that on Monday, Representative Greene had violated the platform’s rules when she tweeted that the FDA ‘should not approve the Covid-19 vaccines’ and claimed the vaccines were ‘failing’ and that they were ineffective at reducing the virus’ spread. Twitter labeled that tweet as misleading and prevented Greene from tweeting for one week. A company spokesperson said the tweet was ‘labeled in line with our Covid-19 misleading information policy. The account will be read-only mode for a week due to repeated violations to the social media platforms rules.’ The current suspension marks at least the third time Twitter has suspended Greene for misinformation. In January she was suspended for 12 hours for sharing conspiracy theories and in July she was suspended for another 12 hours for sharing misinformation about Covid-19 and vaccines.
