President, Top Lawmakers Call for Cuomo’s Resignation

The number of politicians urging New York Governor Andrew Cuomo to resign is growing. Yesterday President Biden said he believes Cuomo should resign after a report by the New York Attorney General’s office found that Cuomo sexually harassed multiple women. Biden said “I think he should resign. I understand that the state legislature may decide to impeach. I don’t know that for a fact.” In March, Biden said he believed that Cuomo should step down if New York Attorney General Letitia James’ investigation substantiated the allegations.

James announced yesterday that her investigation into the sexual harassment allegations found that Cuomo sexually harassed multiple women including current and former state employees and a number of women outside of state government. James said her investigation found that Cuomo engaged in ‘unwelcome and non-consensual touching’, and made comments of a ‘suggestive’ sexual nature. She added that Cuomo’s conduct created a ‘hostile work environment for the women’. Has the governor continues to deny all allegations.
