Friendship Formed at Country Music Concert Culminates in a Kidney Match
Sarah and Sonny met at a Jason Alden concert and formed an instant friendship that would result in a life-saving match nearly a decade later.
This story started with a conversation at a country music concert. Sarah D. met Sonny years ago at a Jason Alden concert through mutual friends. They formed an instant friendship. Then lost touch for a few years. One day Sarah was in the area again and they reconnected. That’s when she discovered Sonny was not doing well and was in kidney failure. At that moment something changed within her. After months of self-searching and research she began the process to see if she could donate her kidney. After rigorous medical evaluations, months later Sonny now has a life-saving kidney and is thriving again. Sarah said she had a lot of support in the process but not at first. And a series of blessings began flowing just by stepping out of her comfort zone.
