CDC Announces New Mask Guidelines For Fully Vaccinated People
Yesterday the CDC announced new mask guidelines for vaccinated individuals. The CDC announced fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear masks or practice social distancing indoors or outdoors. National Institutes of Health Director Dr. Francis Collins said “we are on the right path for people who are fully immunized, you can take your mask off indoors as well as outdoors.”
He added “We are not at the end of this story. There are still a lot of people who haven’t gotten that shot.” According to CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky, the organization came out with it’s new set of guidelines because of declining case rates, increases in vaccine numbers and a growing understanding of the risk of viral spread by vaccinated people. Those individuals who aren’t vaccinated are still encouraged to wear masks and follow social distancing guidelines.
