Rep Liz Cheney Ousted, 9 Other Reps Facing Backlash Of Impeachment Vote
House Republicans voted behind closed doors to oust Representative Liz Cheney from her leadership role but the other 9 Republicans who voted to impeach Trump are also facing backlash. As reported yesterday, Republicans had Cheney ousted from her role for calling out former President Donald Trump’s lie that the 2020 election was stolen from him. Prior to losing her role Cheney was the number 3 House Republican and held the highest ranking of the 10 Republicans who voted to impeach Trump for the riots in January. The other 9, Tom Rice of South Carolina, Adam Kinzinger of Illinois, John Katko of New York, and others who voted for impeachment faced the threat of challenges over their votes and calls for resignation by states and local Republican groups. Some of them have continued to challenge the former President and the future of the Republican Party while others have remained silent.
