Rezoning Request for Gardner Lacy Road Voted Down

The second reading of a rezoning request off Gardner Lacy Road was voted against 10-2 Tuesday by the Horry County Council.

The request to rezone an area off Gardner Lacy Road was denied. The second reading of a rezoning request was voted against 10-2 last night by the Horry County Council. Last month, about a 100 residents showed up to the public forum to voice their opinions. Many voiced concerns about flooding. After that meeting the project was reduced from 105 townhomes to 58 single family homes. Residents who spoke at last night’s meeting were still concerned about flooding.
