Myrtle Beach Man Delivers 2,000 Meals
Richard "Boo" Smith has been dedicating one lunch break a week to delivering food for Meals on Wheels.
This is for our Pay it Forward campaign. The story was sent to us from City Electric Supply about one of their employees, Richard Smith. They call him “Boo.” Smith has been dedicating one lunch break a week to helping others by delivering food for Meals on Wheels. It’s an organization that helps those who aren’t able to get out for various reasons whether age or medical conditions. Smith contacted the local Myrtle Beach chapter to get involved and has been doing it since 2016. Since then he has delivered about 2,000 meals. He says that number continues to rise. Before the pandemic, he might deliver to 5 or 6, now it’s up to 11 a day. he says many don’t get a lot of visitors and his interaction with them is sometimes the biggest part of their week. Way to go “Boo!” Thank you, CES, for sharing his story.
