The Myrtle Beach Skywheel announced a ‘hero flight’ contest that will honor everyday heroes for their contributions to the community. The hero flight will take place at a private party before the attraction’s grand re-opening in late May that will make the heroes some of the first to ride the revamped Skywheel. Officials urge the public to nominate first responders, military, law enforcement, healthcare workers, educators, front line employees and everyday heroes who help make their communities a better place. You can find nomination forms and the contest rules on the Myrtle Beach Skywheel’s website. They’re taking submissions until 5 p.m. on May 1, 2021. Five winners will be announced on the Skywheel’s Facebook page.
