Today is also National Make Lunch Count day.  Many of us tend to skip out on lunch if it means getting one more thing done in the office or around the house. But a report published by a global health company, shows taking the time to step away for lunch, will increase your productivity.  A study of 1,600 employees in the U.S. found that the 90% who took a lunch break away from their desks felt more refreshed and ready to get back to work.  Those employees were also more likely to rate themselves as effective, efficient, and more satisfied in their jobs than those who didn’t take a lunch break. Interestingly, the ones in this study who didn’t take the midday break, were more likely to work overtime.  So, to get more done and to avoid burnout, the study shows taking that lunch break is working smarter.
