2015 Murder Suspect Arrested In Connection With Murder In Marlboro County

A 2015 murder suspect out of jail under supervised release has been arrested for a new murder in Marlboro County.
Deputies were called to the Ellison Club in McColl around 2 a.m. Monday on reports of a shooting in the parking lot. 34 year old Donta Pearson of Laurel Hill was shot and died later at the hospital. 25 year old Deaundre Malachi of Bennettsville was arrested in connection with the murder after a high speed chase with law enforcement. According to deputies, he was charged with murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a violent felony, driving under suspension, littering and possession with the intent to distribute cocaine base. He is being held at the Marlboro County Detention Center and will be arraigned today.
