2 Charged for Assaulting Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick
Two men have been arrested and charged for assaulting Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick. Sicknick died after responding to the hundreds of rioters who took over the Capitol on January 6th. 32 year old Julian Khater of Pennsylvania and 39 year old George Tanios of West Virginia allegedly worked together to spray Police with a toxic chemical during the riot. Investigators worked for weeks to develop a federal murder case in Sicknick’s death and examined numerous videos and photographs to determine the exact moment he was fatally injured. They also determined the reports that he was struck by a fire extinguisher were not true. In the court papers it was reported that Sicknick, and two other Officers who were standing within a few feet of Khater, all react, one by one, to something striking them in the face. They retreated from the line and rushed to wash their eyes out’. The two men are charged with 9 counts each. So far, over 300 people have been charged in connection with the assaults on the Capitol on January 6th.
