Massive Snowstorm Hit Colorado

This weekend, Colorado was stuck by a massive snowstorm. It’s the 4th largest storm on record and it forced thousands of flights to be cancelled, knocked out power to homes, stranded drivers in vehicles, shut down major roadways and forced many schools and government offices to close today. The region had recently suffered a severe drought and some parts of the state were hit with abnormally dry conditions. The storm bought a sense of relief but caused chaos for travel across the state. The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning, the National Guard was deployed, Governor Jared Polis advised residents to stay home and stay safe as transit authorities closed roads and highways. Some areas were expected to receive as much as 9 inches to two feet of snow. All in all, 2,750 flights were cancelled and the Denver International Airport saw 27 inches of snow.
