Cuomo Issues 2nd Apology After Workplace Sexual Harassment Claims Surface
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo issued yet another statement in wake of accusations made against him over workplace sexual harassment. Cuomo formally addressed the situation just days after a third woman came out alleging he made her uncomfortable with inappropriate comments and touching. Following a short Covid briefing, the governor said he fully supports women’s rights to come forward. Choking up a bit, he admitted he understands now how his actions affected them and said, “It was unintentional and I truly and deeply apologize for it. I feel awful about it, and frankly, I am embarrassed by it.” But Cuomo held firm on his claims that he “never touched anyone inappropriately.” In response to growing calls for him to resign, he further added he has no intentions to do so as of now. He asked his constituents to withhold judgement until a thorough investigation is conducted by the New York Attorney General’s office. It’s an investigation he has willingly welcomed and could take months to conclude.
