How Your Birth Order Affects Your Personality
Whether you’re the oldest, middle, youngest or only child, some psychologists say your personality is shaped by it.
Some of it has to do with the way parents relate to the child in their position and competition with siblings. Firstborns tend to be reliable, conscientious, structured, achievers, sometimes controlling. the second or middle child tends to be people-pleasers, has large social circles, negotiators, sometimes rebellious. The babies of the family tend to be the most free-spirited , fun-loving, but can be more manipulative. The only child has both the privilege and burden of all their parents support and expectations with no siblings to compete with and tends to be mature for their age, perfectionists, leaders.
