Flood Warnings Increased for Several Local Areas Amid Stormy Weather Forecast

Several new alerts were issued this morning over concerns of potential flooding in local areas. Over the next few days, more rain and thunderstorms can be expected and there are fears that areas, especially those near rivers, are at high risk of flooding. Robeson County officials changed their forecast from moderate to major severity for the Lumber River in Lumberton, and increased the risk from minor to moderate severity for the Lynches River at Effingham. This would also impact Florence County. Those living along the Waccamaw River in Conway are also being warned of moderate flooding.
