CDC to Issue New Guidelines for Schools Today

The CDC is expected to release its guidelines on the best way to safely reopen more schools today.
The Biden Administration has placed a high priority on getting kids back in classrooms and the president has previously stated he wants the majority of schools nationwide to be open within his first 100 days in office. But, the debate on how to do so safely is heated in many school districts across the country.
White House Coronavirus Adviser Andy Slavitt says he understands why some parents are impatient to reopen and has stressed that the CDC is being very thorough before making any announcements. The guidance they’ll provide is expected to outline five key strategies: hand washing, masking, social distancing, cleaning and ventilation as well as contact tracing, isolation and quarantine.
