Probable Cause of Deadly Kobe Bryant Helicopter Crash Revealed

The cause of the helicopter crash that killed Kobe Bryant, his daughter and seven others has been announced. Just over a year ago, the NBA legend, his daughter Gianna, their six friends and the pilot were flying to a youth basketball tournament in Ventura County. Unfortunately, they never made it as their helicopter crashed into a southern California hillside near Calabasas. There were no survivors. It’s now been reported by the National Transportation Safety Board that the crash was likely the result of the pilot’s “spatial disorientation.” Despite his ten years of experience, the pilot chose to fly on a foggy day and violated federal regulations by flying directly into clouds. It’s believed the bad weather was the largest contributor to the incident and that once the pilot lost ground visual, he either didn’t reference his instruments or couldn’t interpret them properly which led to a miscalculation in how high they were. There were no signs of mechanical failure. The agency said it appears to have been an accident, but one that was easily avoidable.
