Tampa Bay Buccaneers Win the Super Bowl

If you haven’t been paying attention, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in last night’s Super Bowl! The final score was 31-9 at Raymond James Stadium in Florida. It was the first win for the Bucs since 2002. They also became the first team ever to play and win at their home stadium. Quarterback Tom Brady led the team to their success, earning him his unprecedented seventh Super Bowl ring. He’s now beat out the Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots for most Super Bowl wins ever. Brady completed 21 of 29 passes for 201 yards with three touchdowns. For his performance, he was named as the game’s MVP. At the age of 43, Brady is the oldest player to ever perform in a Super Bowl. He is also the first player in over 40 years to win a championship game or series MVP in any of the four major North American professional sports leagues. Even more history was made last night after Sarah Thomas became the first woman to officiate a Super Bowl in NFL history.
