2 Hurt After Philadelphia Officer Crashes Car into House While Drunk
An off-duty Philadelphia Police Officer is facing several charges after driving drunk and crashing into a house over the weekend. On Saturday, 27-year-old Officer Gregory Campbell lost control of his 2014 Dodge Dart. He went air born and crashed into a home around 8:20 p.m. One of the homeowners, a 53-year-old woman, was knocked unconscious and trapped under the vehicle. She was hospitalized and is listed in critical condition. A 45-year-old male resident also suffered injuries, which includes road rash to his back. A dog was unfortunately killed in the crash and a second is now in the care of a vet. Campbell was also taken to the hospital and treated for a head cut. He has since been charged with aggravated assault, DUI, and other related offenses. Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw said, “The consequences of choosing to drive while under the influence are enormous, and all too often, life-changing. A family should always feel safe in their home, and yet the actions of this individual shattered that reality.”
