CDC Reveals Projected Covid-19 Death Toll for February

The U.S. coronavirus death toll could reach over half a million people by the end of this month, according to the latest CDC projection. The current toll stands at almost 450,700 with over 26.6 million infections. The CDC believes at the rate things are going, an additional 80,000 could die by February 27th. This would amount to about one death for every minute since the U.S. recorded it’s first known case of Covid-19 on February 29th of last year. To make matters worse, recent data suggests the U.K. variant may be even deadlier than the original strain. There’s also fears there may be far more cases of international strands out there then have been reported. Dr. Anthony Fauci said currently the U.S. is not vaccinating at a rate fast enough to get ahead of the variants, but he promised “we’re getting better and better.” There’s also more hope on the vaccine front as two more vaccines may soon be joining the fight. This includes the AstraZeneca vaccine. Until then, the best way to stop yourself from getting sick is through preventative health measures.
