Man Arrested for Attempted Robbery of Socastee Grocery Store

A man was arrested after attempting to rob a Socastee grocery store over the weekend. The attempted crime took place at the Garden City Connector on Sunday afternoon. 20-year-old Spencer Boros is accused of handing a note to a store employee that said he was robbing them, had a gun, and would shoot them in the kneecap. It’s believed Boros then wandered around the store and took a steak before he was confronted by an employee. He was charged with armed robbery and is being held on a $500 bond. Boros claims the note was “just a joke.”
