Columbia-Based Lawyer to Represent President Trump in Impeachment Trial

A Columbia-based lawyer has been selected to represent President Trump during his Senate impeachment trial. The former president has turned to Attorney Butch Bowers after members of his previous legal teams indicated they will not get involved with the upcoming trial. Bowers was one of two attorneys who represented former Florence County Sheriff William “Kenney” Boone on charges of misconduct in office and embezzlement. He has also worked for state elected officials and political candidates and served as counsel to former Governors Nikki Haley and Mark Sanford. Senator Lindsey Graham reportedly helped the former president find his representation.
