Suspect’s Charges Upgraded to Murder After Assault on Florence City Employee
UPDATE: According to new booking records, the suspect’s charges have since been upgraded to murder. He’s currently being held without bond.
Florence Police have further apprehended a man who assaulted a city employee yesterday. The unidentified victim was seriously injured during a knife attack in the area of 801 Clement Street and the Northwest Park Community Center around 10 a.m. The assault appeared to be randomly committed against the victim who had been employed with the city of Florence for a month. Jawan Crittenden was taken into custody hours later on charges of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He had just been released from jail on a $2,000 bond after an alleged shoplifting incident over the weekend.
