At Least 7 Killed After Massive Winter Storm Rocks East Coast

The record-setting winter storm on the East Coast has claimed more lives and buried millions under several feet of snow. After a massive car pile-up in Pennsylvania claimed two lives on Wednesday, another man died after being struck by a municipal snowplow. A fourth was killed after losing control of his vehicle. Out of over 200 crashes in Virginia, only one fatality was reported which was that of a 19-year-old North Carolina man. In New York, Governor Andrew Cuomo confirmed two more storm-related deaths but declined to offer further details. Some parts of the region received over 3 feet of snow. Across 14 states, there have been hundreds of car accidents and it’s believed icy conditions also led a Spirit airlines flight to skid off a runway after making a safe landing in Maryland. Fortunately no one was injured. Tens of thousands lost power with thousands more still in the dark as of this morning. As the storm continues, parts of Maine and New Hampshire are expected to receive at least a foot more of powder.
