Series of Package Thefts Prompt SC Lawmaker to Propose New Bill

Recent incidents of packages stolen from porches has led a South Carolina lawmaker to propose a new bill. Yesterday, Conway Police arrested 40-year-old Nash Woods for petty larceny in connection to several thefts that occurred December 8th in parts of Conway. Another suspected porch pirate caught switching packages in the Aynor area was later determined to be a UPS employee who’d mixed up his deliveries. While no crime occurred there, a state house representative is now pushing the Defense Against Porch Pirates Act. If passed, it would make stealing packages from porches a felony.
