Two Suspects Charged in Connection with Death of Horry County Man
A former Horry County Deputy Coroner and woman have been charged for the murder of a man who went missing last month. 37-year-old Chris Dontell and 35-year-old Meagan jackson were both booked and charged yesterday in the death of Gregory Rice. Rice’s body was discovered last week after he went missing October 2nd. This turn in the case led investigators to Dontell and Jackson. It’s been reported that Jackson was the mother to four of Rice’s five children. The couple moved to the Grand Strand area together in 2013. Following the news, Dontell was promptly terminated from his position with the coroners office that he’d held since 2018. Both suspects will make their first court appearance today.
