President-Elect Biden Names Covid-19 Transition Team, Advisory Board

President-elect Joe Biden has made it clear his first order of business will be to address the coronavirus. Early this morning a Covid-19 transition team and advisory board was announced. Those elected have experience “engaging with and leading our country’s response to nationwide and worldwide public health crises.” It will be led by Co-Chairs Dr. David Kessler and Dr. Vivek Murthy. Kessler served in both the George H.W. Bush and Clinton Administrations as FDA Commissioner and Murthy was the Surgeon General under the Obama Administration. There are numerous other highly qualified professionals onboard all with the main goal of “determining the public health and economic steps necessary to get the virus under control” and deliver immediate relief to all who need it. This comes as the U.S. is fast approaching 10 million total coronavirus cases with more than 237,000 related deaths. In what’s being called the third Covid-19 wave, over 100,000 Americans a day are now contracting the virus.
