USPS Accused of Failing to Meet Mandatory Orders Set by Judge Before Election

The USPS is once again in trouble after failing to meet mail-in ballot deadlines ordered by a judge. District Judge Emmet Sullivan of Washington, D.C. ordered mail-in ballots take priority and demanded thorough sweeps of mail facilities in 12 key regions on election day. This was in an effort to make up for serious delays the service has been experiencing over the last few months due to various reasons. It’s now been revealed the USPS failed to comply with their deadline in dozens of districts around the country.
In Pennsylvania alone, around 300,000 ballots went missing before they were eventually located. It appears they went straight to their final destinations without being scanned which led to the confusion. There are potentially thousands of other ballots in crucial swing states that might not be counted because of the service’s failure to adhere to the order. While officials claim they did their best, Sullivan still called for testimonies, including that of the Postmaster General. More sweeps of the mail facilities have again been ordered through tomorrow.
