Georgetown Council Extends Mask Mandate
During a meeting yesterday afternoon, the Georgetown city council voted to extend it’s face covering ordinance for another 60 days.
The ordinance first took effect on July 3rd, requiring face coverings in any and all food service or retail establishments. Coverings aren’t required under certain conditions including outdoor or enclosed areas, people whose religious beliefs prevent them and those who can’t wear them due to medical or behavioral conditions. Earlier this week members of the Horry County council voted to end their mandate which expires on October 30th. Face coverings aren’t required inside of some businesses located within Horry County but, they will still be required inside all South Carolina establishments where food is being served as ordered by Governor McMaster.
