Presidential Candidates Prepare for Second Debate as Remaining States Begin Early Voting
The election is now just 15 days away and a record-breaking more than 27 million ballots have already been cast. Early voting has begun across 45 states and the District of Columbia. At this time during the 2016 election, only around 17 million people had participated. Over 1.45 million ballots have been cast in Georgia alone as of yesterday afternoon. That’s a 152% jump from this same time during the previous election. As of Friday, ballots became available in all 50 states. President Trump and Joe Biden will be touring crucial swing states in the next two weeks as they also begin early voting. The two candidates are also scheduled to meet in their second and final presidential debate this week. It will be set in Nashville starting 9 p.m. on Thursday with NBC’s Kristen Welker moderating. It’s expected to run for 90 minutes without commercial breaks. The Commission on Presidential Debates has also released the event’s six main topics. They include fighting Covid-19, American families, race in America, climate change, national security and leadership.
