HCS Expected to Make Announcement on Possible Full-Time Virtual Learning Soon

Horry County Schools are expected to make a decision about going entirely virtual as early as tomorrow. According to DHEC’s report last week, the county has entered back into a “high” risk zone as Covid-19 numbers are once again on the rise. They’re just waiting for tomorrow’s report before making the final decision of possibly reverting back to full online learning as per the guidelines they created this summer to keep students and staff safe. This all comes after a student at Carolina Forest Elementary School tested positive, leaving many parents to question the school’s decision to allow in-person classes in the first place. Many have expressed frustration over the instability of the schools’ scheduling and are calling for a more consistent and permanent plan.
