New Details Surface in Foiled Domestic Terror Plot to Kidnap Michigan Governor
New details surfaced yesterday in regards to the domestic terror kidnapping plot in Michigan. The FBI arrested thirteen men last week for planning and preparing the abduction of Governor Grethcen Whitmer who believed her strict Covid-19 regulations violated their rights. They considered storming the state’s capitol building, taking hostages, or fire bombing police vehicles on election day as a distraction, all in attempt to capture the governor. Their goal was to forcefully remove her from office and possibly spark a civil war. They also discussed in length killing Whitmer as well as kidnapping Virginia’s governor. Members of the plot consisted of men from two different militia groups. At the time of their arrest, they had begun tactical training and attempted to make bombs. Six people were charged federally with conspiracy to kidnap, and seven others were charged by the state. Five of those men made their first court appearance yesterday. Of those five, three will remain in custody until their trials.
