U.S. House Unveils New Stimulus Bill as One Million People Killed Worldwide by Covid-19
One million people worldwide have now died from the coronavirus, this according to Johns Hopkins University. Leading with the most deaths globally is the U.S. with over 205,000 lives lost. To put that number into perspective, that’s more people killed from Covid-19 than have died in the five most recent wars which includes the Korean, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan and Persian Gulf War. The CDC has also announced Covid-19 is now the third-leading cause of death in the U.S. The only events in U.S. history that have claimed more lives are World War II, the Civil War, and the Spanish Influenza. Last night, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin unveiled yet another stimulus bill, this one totaling $2.2 trillion. It includes measures such as another round of stimulus checks to households under a certain income, major funding for the USPS, increased coronavirus testing, unemployment benefits, small business aid and more.
