Dozens Arrested in Louisville During Second Night of Unrest Over Breonna Taylor Ruling
Protests continued nationwide again last night following the ruling on Breonna Taylor’s death. In Louisville, the epicenter of the outrage, 26-year-old Larynzo Johnson has been accused of shooing two Louisville Metro officers Wednesday night. He faces two counts of assault in the first degree and 14 counts of wanton endangerment. One victim, major Aubrey Gregory, was discharged from the hospital after being shot in his thigh. The second officer, Robinson Desroches, remains under observation after he was struck in the abdomen. He’s in stable condition and recovering following “significant surgery”. LMPD confirmed that same night a police sergeant also suffered a knee injury after being hit with a protester’s baton. He was also allegedly exposed to blood and spit on. 127 “protest-related” arrests were performed across the city Wednesday night. Charges range from failure to comply, unlawful assembly, property damage, resisting arrest, assault, setting fires, looting, and rioting. At least 24 more demonstrators were apprehended last night, including Rep. Attica Scott who penned Breonna’s Law which now bans no-knock warrants within Louisville. Her and her daughter were charged with felonies.
