More Than 90% of U.S. Population Still Vulnerable to Contracting Covid-19
Almost 7 million people nationwide have contracted Covid-19 as about half of all U.S. states report increasing trends. The U.S. death toll also surpassed 200,000 people this week and according to the CDC, more than 90% of Americans are still susceptible to catching the virus. That means over 295 million are still vulnerable. This news comes as a disturbing revelation, especially as we approach the fall and winter seasons which are predicted to bring with them worsening case numbers. Fortunately, Johnson & Johnson became the fourth U.S. based pharmaceutical company to enter phase three Covid-19 vaccine trials yesterday. Meanwhile, CDC Director Dr. Robert Redfield, Dr. Anthony Fauci and more appeared before another Senate Health Committee this week. They mainly addressed President Trump’s response to the pandemic. Things got rather heated during Fauci’s testimony as he clashed with Rand Paul, accusing the senator of continually misconstruing his words and grossly misunderstanding scientific information.
