U.S. Officially Surpasses 200,000 Covid-19 Related Deaths
The U.S. officially hit 200,000 Covid-19 deaths this weekend. This devastating new milestone was predicted by Dr. Deborah Birx and more top health officials as far back as March. This also comes a week earlier than the date CDC officials originally anticipated. Now, an even more grim prediction has been made. With over 6.8 million Covid-19 cases nationwide, the fall and winter seasons fast approaching, public health measures being ignored, and half of all states seeing upward trends in cases, the U.S. could see 415,000 deaths by January. That’s according to the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington. Many experts say it didn’t have to be this way, attributing this great loss of life due to the ineffective response by the U.S. But this new prediction is by no means set in stone. It’s imperative 100% of Americans, government officials included, follow health guidelines if they hope to fight this deadly virus.
