Darlington County Schools Vote to Start Classes Virtually on September 8th

Darlington County announced they will start their school year virtually. The district unanimously voted to begin with online learning on September 8th through at least the first two weeks. Superintendent Dr. Tim Newman said they made the decision since “the numbers in Darlington County are not coming down as quickly as the rest of the state is” with their disease activity still being listed as “high.” The district will vote every two weeks until it’s deemed safe to have students come back for in-person instruction.
