Man Arrested for Shooting at Marlboro County Deputy
A suspect has been taken into custody for shooting at a Marlboro County Deputy. The officer was responding to numerous 911 calls from a residence on Gravel Pit Road in Bennettesville. Upon arrival, he was confronted by the suspect, James Taylor, who began yelling from inside the home. The situation escalated after Taylor started firing through a window. The deputy was able to take cover behind his vehicle and requested back up. After a brief standoff, Taylor surrendered. He was taken into custody and charged with attempted murder. The officer is reportedly in “good health” following the incident.
