U.S. Health Officials Report Downward, Steady Trends in New Covid-19 Cases

For the first time in months, U.S. health officials are reporting a downward trend of Covid-19 cases nationwide. Georgia remains to be in the lead as the state who continuously reports the highest rates of daily infections compared to their population. Following suit are Texas, Florida and California. Each state is seeing thousands of new cases a day. Fortunately, at least 20 states are reporting declines compared to the previous week. 18 more states are also reporting steady trends in new cases. While this is good news, experts were quick to mention that we will see a reversal of our fortunes yet again if we do not continue to take health protocols seriously. The majority of states attribute the declines to mandatory implementation of guidelines and citizen’s adherence to them. France and Spain may be indicators of what could come after they’ve experienced increases and even record breaking highs in daily cases since coming out of lockdown.
