Former CIA Officer Charged for Alleged Espionage with China

It’s just been revealed a former Central Intelligence Agency officer has been arrested and charged for alleged espionage. 67-year-old Alexander Yuk Ching Ma stands accused of sending top secret, classified information to the People’s Republic of China for almost a decade. Ma is a naturalized U.S. citizen who was born in Hong Kong. It’s reported he began working for the CIA in 1982. In that time he signed several nondisclosure agreements and maintained top-secret clearance. He was arrested Friday and officially charged with conspiracy to communicate national defense information to aid a foreign government. Ma will appear before a federal judge today in the U.U. Court for the District of Hawaii. If he is found guilty, he could face a maximum sentence of life in prison. Furthermore, it’s believed he conspired with a relative who also served with the agency. However, at this time their identity remains unknown, as well as the severity of the charges they’re facing.
