Georgia Student Suspended for Posting Photo of Crowded School Hallway

A Georgia student has been suspended after posting a viral photo of a crowded school hallway. Hannah Watters is a student at North Paulding High School in Dallas, Georgia which just recently resumed in-person instruction. On her first day back, Watters shared a photo of the hallways on social media, saying she was “concerned for the safety of everyone in that building and…county.” She was soon after suspended for violating three of the school’s conduct policies. They include using her phone during instruction time, using her phone during school hours for social media and filming students and posting on a social media platform. Watters said while she didn’t post the photo until school was over, she doesn’t regret it, calling it a “good and necessary trouble”. The the high school and county district have yet to make an official comment to the media, but the school’s superintendent said in a letter to the community that the photo was taken out of context and they continue to work in order to maintain students safety.
