Suspect Arrested in Relation to Double Homicide in Lumberton

UPDATE: 25-year-old Xavier Green was arrested in Florence County off a southbound lane of I-95 close to mile marker 163 earlier today. He was seen walking alongside the highway after his car got a flat tire. When Green was spotted by troopers, he attempted to jump a fence and run into the woods but was quickly captured. He will be held in South Carolina until he is extradited to back to Lumberton, North Carolina where he will stand trial.

Warrants have been issued for a man in relation to a double homicide in Lumberton. 25-year-old Xavier Green from Florence is wanted for two counts of first degree murder. He stands accused of killing victims 32-year-old Kayla Kyle and 41-year-old Kimberly Hunt late last week at a Family Dollar as they were backing out of their parking spaces. It appeared to be a random incident that has since left many residents in fear. Green is described as 6’1″ weighing 185 lbs with brown eyes. He is considered armed and dangerous and anyone who knows where green is asked to call 911.
