Good News Arrives From the Vaccine Front as Coronavirus Continues to Surge in the U.S.

As the U.S. reports nearly 4.3 million COVID-19 cases, Florida is in trouble but, there’s good news on the vaccine trial front. Florida remains to be the epicenter of the outbreak in the U.S. as they near half a million cases. Their hospitalization numbers have also surged at alarming rates. This includes a significant increase in child hospitalizations less than a month before schools are set to reopen. In attempt to curb the outbreak, a group of more than 5,000 health professionals are now demanding Governor Ron DeSantis enact a statewide mask mandate. While it appears the COVID-19 outbreak is worsening not only in the U.S., but in several other countries as well, the pharmaceutical company Moderna announced they’re entering phase three of a clinical trial for a vaccine. It will be conducted at nearly 100 U.S. research sites and will include around 30,000 adult participants. This is the first potential vaccine to enter a phase three trial globally.
