Total Coronavirus Cases in U.S. Surpass 3 Million

COVID-19 cases in the U.S. have reached 3 million, with Florida, Texas, Arizona and California among the states reporting the highest amount of new cases. Texas reported over 10,000 new cases in a single day yesterday. Only two other states have reported this grim milestone, including New York back in April and Florida just last week. Texas’ total case count is now over 210,000. They’ve also seen more than 2,700 deaths. All this comes after Governor Greg Abbott issued an executive order last week mandating all bars implement new safety measures. Texas has also reported hospitalizations have surged, nearly quadrupling within the last month. As of yesterday, at least 56 intensive care units in Florida hospitals reached capacity with a majority of patients coming in with upper respiratory or coronavirus complaints. In California, hospitalizations across the state hit an all-time high. Arizona also saw its lowest-ever number of available ICU beds yesterday.
