Three NC Officers Terminated After “Racist Rant” Caught on Audio

Three North Carolina officers were fired after their “racist rant” was caught on audio. The former Wilmington Police Department members involved included Corporal Jessie Moore, and Officers Kevin Piner and Brian Gilmore. Each is accused of violating standards of conduct, criticism and use of inappropriate jokes and slurs after their disturbing conversation came to light. The officers reportedly admitted it was them but said their comments stemmed from recent stressors placed on them. Along with their termination, the District Attorney’s office will review their previous cases to determine if they showed any racial bias or committed any crimes.
