Half of All U.S. States Now Seeing Rise in COVID-19 Cases

We’re still in the midst of a pandemic. Experts say officially half of all U.S. states are now seeing a dangerous rise in COVID-19 cases. The south and the west are taking the hardest hits. Florida, the next predicted epicenter of the outbreak, reported they surpassed 100,000 total cases yesterday. Within the last two weeks, Oregon has reported an almost 235% jump in infections. Oklahoma is similarly reporting a 202% jump. Arizona’s cases are also on the rise by 142%. Los Angeles alone experienced another record breaking single day increase in new COVID-19 infections yesterday with over 2,571 cases reported. The recent rise of cases in certain states can apparently be traced back to Memorial Day weekend when restrictions were initially relaxed. Almost exactly 2 weeks later states such as Florida, Arizona and Texas began seeing upward trends in cases. And the majority of those testing positive in these areas are people under thirty, this according to Texas Governor Greg Abbott.
