Dr. Rick Bright Testifies Before Congress Today
Dr. Rick Bright, former director of a federal office tasked with developing a coronavirus vaccine, will testify before Congress today. Bright claims he was removed from his position by President Trump because he refused to support him and promote the unproven drug chloroquine to the American people. As a result of his firing, he filed an official whistle blower complaint last week. Today he is expected to testify before the House Committee on Energy and Commerce’s Health Subcommittee regarding the incident and the president’s response to the pandemic.
Bright is prepared to warn the committee of “the darkest winter in modern history” that will include “unprecedented illness and fatalities” unless the nation is able to coordinate a clear, unified and scientific-based response. Bright also aims to be reinstated as the head of the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority and the Office of Special Counsel.
