Wisconsin Supreme Court Reverses Stay-At-Home Orders

Unrest continues to grow in the U.S. as states begin to gradually reopen, some quicker than others. In a 4 to 3 vote, the Wisconsin Supreme Court decided to immediately overturn stay-at-home orders yesterday which would’ve been in effect through May 26th. The judges claimed governor Tony Evers’ actions were “unlawful” and “unenforceable”. Evers said the ruling was politically motivated and that “Now we have no plan and no protections for the people of Wisconsin.” He further compared the state of things to the wild west. In Michigan, another round of protests is expected to take place rejecting the newly extended stay at home orders. However Governor Gretchen Whitmer remains steadfast in her decision and predicts the protests will only contribute to the spread of the virus and will force her to keep restrictions in place for longer.
