Protesters Demand Justice For Death of Unarmed Black Man
Protesters demand the fatal shooting of a unarmed black man in Georgia go before a grand jury. 25-year-old Ahmaud Arbery was jogging in a neighborhood just outside Brunswick on February 3rd when he was spotted by former District Attorney Investigator Gregory McMichael who thought Arbery fit the description of a burglary suspect. After chasing Arbery down in their truck, McMichael reported that his son Travis and Arbery engaged in a physical confrontation and struggled over a gun, resulting in the gun’s firing and Arbery’s death. The whole incident was caught on camera by someone who happened to be nearby at the time. It’s been suggested there may be some inconsistencies between McMichael’s story, and the video and autopsy report but no official charges have been brought against the father or son. The entire incident has sparked outrage and protesters are demanding the case be formally reviewed by a grand jury.
