Tensions Between China, U.S. Increase Over Pandemic’s Origins
Tensions between the U.S. and China are gradually increasing over the pandemic. The coronavirus’ origins have long been debated since it began. One of the biggest conspiracy theories is that the virus somehow accidentally broke out of a Chinese laboratory. The president appears to back these claims, stating intelligence officials have gathered evidence to support it. However, experts such as Dr. Anthony Fauci, disagree. He said evidence strongly suggests the virus “could not have been artificially or deliberately manipulated. ” He believes the outbreak likely began accidentally in a Chinese market. But the biggest fear is that tensions between China and the U.S. right now could largely impact the global market. Already, stocks dropped yesterday after President Trump threatened to impose stricter tariffs over China in order to “punish them”. With global markets already taking hard hits, many fear placing blame may make the situation worse.
